What is Cyber Security Awareness Month?

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month. In this blog, I will explain the purpose of Cyber Security Month and what it should mean to you.

The goals of Cyber Security Awareness Month include:

Promoting Cyber Security Education: This helps people recognize potential risks and take appropriate measures to protect themselves online.

Raising Awareness: The campaign seeks to raise public awareness about the importance of cyber security, the evolving nature of cyber threats.

Encouraging Safe Online Behavior: Encourage individuals to adopt safe online habits, such as using strong and unique passwords, (see our last blog post about password creation using Bitwarden) and enabling two-factor authentication.

Fostering Collaboration: Cybersecurity Awareness Month promotes collaboration between government agencies, small businesses, educational institutions, and individuals to collectively improve cybersecurity practices and protect against cyber threats.
